Insiders view of a project from planning to complete: Development

After extensive research, the next step is to develop a plan. After shopping for materials and furniture we wanted to use, we created renderings to help tell the story of our design. With these renderings we were able to share our vision with everyone involved with the project.

Insiders view of a project from planning to complete: Research

Los Angeles has a long history of beautiful courtyard style living. With the new courtyard style project we were hired to update, we scanned through photos and books for inspiration. When Nadia lived in New Orleans, she lived in a townhome in the french quarters off of Jackson Square. So history and happy memories became inspiration for the design.

We loved the look of the white stucco for a clean updated look.

Using Saltillo Tile with blue accent tiles allowed the building to maintain the Spanish feel we were going for.

We also wanted to tie in the blue accent tiles with different sizes of blue pots.

Insiders view of a project from planning to complete: Before

Our firm was given an opportunity to bid on a renovating project of a Spanish courtyard style multi-unit housing project. After we were hired, the first step was to walk through the building and discuss areas of concern. Here are some pictures of the building before:
